| On my post on the meetup website I made reference that we had several family tragedies over the past couple months and several members emailed me what was going on. In early November one of my closest friends was riding his Harley over to my home to pick up a jacket that he had left. Right around the corner from my home he had a motorcycle accident, was airlifted to the hospital and a few days later he passed away. I have a posting about this here: A Tribute To My Friend, “The Judge” Then two weeks later my mom who was 86, was working in her yard and fell. A few hours later a neighbor heard her cries for help and an ambulance was called and she was taken to the hospital. A few days later she passed away. Then few weeks after that a young man that was a friend of the family and whom I've outsourced some work to broke up with his girlfriend, became depressed and committed suicide. Then on Christmas my Sister In Law (46 years old) came over with her husband and spent the night. The following morning her husband was banging on our bedroom door that she wasn't breathing. We started CPR and called for medical. She passed away that evening. During all this I was also involved in overseeing the annual Cops Who Care Christmas toy drive that I'm invloved with each year. The drive was very successful, but I had a hard time participating because of all this other stuff going on. Hopefully with the new year my family and I can put this all behind us and move on to make this year a success..... |

| Roy, I am very sorry to hear about all of the "family issues" you have recently experienced. I know how tough it can be going through this and the loss of a loved one. We are at the age that we are loosing friends and family. Fact of life but it never makes it any easier. Kudos to you for continuing on with the "Cops" project. I know that had to bring you some relief and satisfaction in being able to help others through their suffering. You are a good guy Roy, keep it up. |
